Shirley Ann Bailey Griggs, 78 of 522 Pannel Road Reidsville, passed away Saturday evening, June 7, 2014 at the Morehead Nursing Center in Eden.
The funeral service will be held 2 P.M. Tuesday at the First Church of The Brethren. Burial will follow at Ridge-View Memorial Gardens.
Mrs. Griggs was born June 8, 1935 to the late Frank L. Bailey and Esther Woods Bailey in Spray, NC. She was a member of the First Church of The Brethren where she attended the Loyal Sons and Daughters Class. She was a graduate of the Tri-City High School Class of 1953. She was retired from EI Dupont where she had over 30 years of service.
She is survived by her loving husband of 60 years, Bobby L. Griggs, of the home; daughter Gina G. Williams and husband Mark ; grandson Jordan B. Houchins and wife Cortney ; step grandchildren, Holli Carmichael and husband Mitch, Brittni Williams, and Ty Williams; great grandchildren, Lacey and Griffin Houchins; faithful and loyal friends Frances Maddison and Rose Earles.
Visitation will be held Monday evening from 6:30 to 8:30 P.M.at the First Church of The Brethren.
A special thank you to the ENTIRE STAFF OF THE MOREHEAD NURSING CENTER. Through the years, you have become our family and we pray God's blessings on you for your care, kindness, and devotion to Shirley.
