Douglass Lee Johnson, 70, of 829 Eden Rd., Stoneville, NC passed away May 31, 2014 at his home. The funeral service will be held Tuesday June 3, 2pm at Providence Baptist Church with burial to follow in the church cemetery.
Douglass was born September 27, 1943 in Stoneville, NC to the late I.A. Johnson and Maude Hall Johnson. He was a Carolina Tarheel fan and lived in the home of his birth. Surviving are his sister Evelyn Johnson of the home, niece Martha Smith and husband Tom of Eden, nephews Terry Johnson and wife Melanie of Stoneville, Don Johnson and wife Shannon of Stoneville, Van Johnson and wife Jackie of Eden, grand niece Jessica Johnson Whalen of Michigan, grand nephews Josh Johnson and Ryan Johnson both of Eden, Austin Johnson of Stoneville; great-great-niece, Mackenzy Johnson; and many other nieces and nephews.
The visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church, and other times at the home.

Evelyn, I am so sorry to hear of the loss of Doug. I will always remember his smiles and hugs at Saturday Church. I think of him often as I look at my students.Know that Doug was loved by many. Heaven is a happier place now that Doug has come home. Prayers with you and your family during this time.
