Raymond Henry McCracken, 91, of 645 Overby Street in Eden, passed away early Wednesday morning, May 21, 2014, at his daughter's home.

A funeral service will be held at 4 PM on Friday, May 23, at Draper Church of God. Burial will follow in Danview Cemetery.

Mr. McCracken, son of the late Noah and Mary Mayes McCracken, was born January 14, 1923 in Rockingham County, North Carolina. He was a member of Draper Church of God and a US Navy veteran. Mr. McCracken was a retiree of Fieldcrest Mills.

He is survived by his son, Curtis McCracken and Cynthia Pettigrew of Eden; two daughters, Patricia Agee and husband, Tim of Ridgeway, VA, and Carol Fleck and husband, Tom of Eden; three grandchildren, Lisa Hgerman and husband, Keith, Daniel Fleck and Christina Lunsford and husband, Greg; and three great-grandchildren, Makenzie Skylar Clark, Scotlynn Grace Lunsford and Matthew Hollandsworth.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Helen Brown Overby McCracken; and brother, Richard McCracken.

The family will receive friends Thursday evening, 6 - 8 PM, at Fair Funeral Home and other times at the residence, 645 Overby Street.
