Michael Wayne Ensley, 67, passed away Sunday, May 4, 2014, at his home.
A service to celebrate his life will be held at 2 PM on Thursday, May 8, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints on NC Hwy 14 in Eden.
Mr. Ensley was born October 8, 1946 in Gaston County, North Caroina. He attended the University of North Carolina at Charlotte and was retired from Piedmont Chemical Company in High Point.
He is survived by his wife, Elwanda H. Ensley of the home; sister, Kathy Hughes and husband, Van of Stanley, NC; mother, Geneva Teague Ensley; son, Bryan Ensley; daughter, Julie Ensley all of Gaston County.
Preceding him in death was his father, Melvin Ensley.
The family will receive friends at the church immediately following the memorial service.
Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.

Mike always had a story to tell and a smile to give! I have missed him since his retirement. I will keep you and your family in my thoughts and prayers during the days to come.

Elwanda, my deepest condolences on Mike's passing. He had become very close to our family, especially Harry, who will miss him deeply. We talked last night about what a great time we had with Mike over Labor Day at the dove hunt. In spite of his discomfort even at that time, we had great fun and good laughs and super company. My children and I are sad to hear of Mike's passing. Joseph and Brandon never got to meet their grandfather. Both boys are fine young men and enjoy the outdoors. I am sure Mike would loved them very much.
