Carrie Pulliam Briggs, 90, of 11175 Greensboro Road in Ridgeway, VA, passed away Thursday evening, May 1, 2014, at her home.

A funeral service will be held at 2 PM on Sunday, May 4, at Fair Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Mountain View Cemetery in Ridgeway.

Mrs. Briggs was born February 12, 1924 in Henry County, Virginia, daughter of the late John and Eva Walker Pulliam. She was a graduate Ridgeway High School, class of 1941. Mrs. Briggs was a member of Ridgeway United Methodist Church.

She is survived by her son, Marvin "Bud" Briggs, Jr. and wife, Donna; daughter, Judy Benton and husband, Ray; three grandchildren, Chris Briggs, Nikki Benton, Stephen, and Sabrina Myers and husband, David; three great-grandchildren, Ashbie Briggs, Kaitlyn Myers and Urijah Hollandsworth; sisters, Emily Brooks, Janet Lester and husband, Billy; special care giver, Carrie Quesinberry; and sister-in-law, Sylvia Pulliam.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Marvin Hampton Briggs, Sr.; and two brothers, Eugene Pulliam and John Pulliam, Jr.

The family will receive friends Saturday evening, 7 - 9 PM, at Fair Funeral Home and other times at the residence.
