Lucille Rutledge Bradford, 89, of Eden, passed away early Thursday evening, April 24, 2014 at Hospice Home of Rockingham County in Wentworth.
A funeral service will be held at 2 PM on Saturday, April 26, at Fair Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Danview Cemetery.
Mrs. Bradford was born February 20, 1925 in Leaksville, NC, daughter of the late Frank and Dora Thomas Rutledge. She was a long-time member of Spray Baptist Church and a retiree of Fieldcrest Mills.
She is survived by her three nieces, Janice Smith and husband, Buddy, of Mayodan, Carol Smothers and husband, Dixon of Madison, and Rita Hunt of Eden; nephew, Wayne Lawrence and wife, Anne of Seattle, WA; special nephew, Stanley Blackwell of Eden; numerous great-nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly; and sister-in-law, Viola Rutledge of Eden.
In additon to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Marion R. Bradford; son, Frankie Bradford; brother, Clifford Rutledge; and sister, Edith Lawrence.
The family would like to express their thanks to her special friends and neighbors for all their love and care; and also to the wonderful staff of Hospice of Rockingham County.
Visitation will be held on Friday evening, 6 - 8 PM, at Fair Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to Hospice of Rockingham County, PO Box 281, Wentworth, NC 27375.
