Blenda Thomas Shelton, age 71 of 1050 Friendly Road, Eden, passed away on Friday evening April 18, 2014 at Brian Center Health and Rehab in Yanceyville.
A funeral service will be held 2 pm on Monday at Fair Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow at Overlook Cemetery.
Blenda was born September 15, 1942 in Rockingham County to the late Melvin and Vivian Cruise. She was a Registered Nurse at Brian Center Health and Rehab in Eden for many years. She enjoyed spending time with family and loved to travel.
She was preceded in death along with her parents, her birth father, Carl Thomas, her husband, Jack Wayne Shelton and daughter, Gina Michelle Shelton.
Surviving is daughter, Melissa Altizer and husband Darrel; son, Michael Shelton and wife Tammy; brother, Donnie Thomas; grandchildren, Mason Altizer, Andrew and Zackery Shelton; neices, Renee Thomas and Gina Hall.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 1 - 2 pm at the Fair Funeral Home and other times at her home.
