Carolyn Janette Allmon Patterson, beloved mother and wife, 76, of 1002 Lawson Street in Eden, passed away Sunday, March 30, 2014, at Moses Cone Hospital in Greensboro.

A funeral service will be held at 12 Noon on Thursday, April 3, at Fair Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens.

Mrs. Patterson was born May 8, 1937 in Albemarle, NC, the daughter of the late Joshua G. Allmon and Betty Burris Allmon. She was the first female president of the Reidsville Kiwanis Club and served as president during their 75th Anniversary. Mrs. Patterson worked as a legal assistant for Attorney and dear friend, Dan Bailey for 30 years.

She is survived by her husband, Milton McIvor Patterson of the home; daughters, Suzy Patterson Williamson and husband, Alan, of Danville, VA and Spring Patterson of Reidsville; son, M. Paul Patterson and wife, Cristie, of Gibsonville; four grandchildren, Joey McIvor Patterson, Jacob Aaron Scott, Sam Scott, and Kara Patterson; brothers, Jerry Allmon, Lane Allman, and Steve Allman; and two sisters, Sharon Allmon Cooke and Betty Allmon Helms.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday evening, 6 - 8 PM, at Fair Funeral Home.

So sorry to hear about Carolyn. I knew her from working at the Rockingham County Clerk's office for the past 15 years. She was always very pleasant to talk to, especially about poodles...
