Louise Long Wilson, 83, of Eden, passed away Monday morning, March 17, 2014, at Hospice Home of Rockingham County in Wentworth.

A private family memorial service will be held at a later date.

Mrs. Wilson was born November 22, 1930 in Leaksville, NC, to the late Clemon Dewey Long and Nell Purdy Long. She was a member of Bethlehem United Methodist Church and life member of Beta Sigma Phi International. She graduated from Leaksville High School, Class of 1949 and later received her Bachelor of Science and Master of Science degrees from the University of North Carolina. Mrs. Wilson taught in the public schools of North Carolina and Virginia and retired from UNC-G after serving 19 years on its faculty.

Surviving are her niece and nephews, Susan Long Fox and husband, Joel of Winston-Salem, Craig Brian Long of St. Charles, MO and Steven Terry Long and wife, Kathy of O'Fallon, MO; great-niece, Kayla Fox; and sister-in-law, Betty Joyce and husband, Rudolph of Mayodan.

Memorial contributions may be made to Bethlehem United Methodist Church, 1891 Bethlehem Church Rd., Reidsville, NC 27320 or a charity of the donor's choice.
