James William Booth, Sr., 83, of 2479 Price Road in Eden, passed away Monday morning, February 10, 2014, at Morehead Memorial Hospital.

A funeral service HAS BEEN CHANGED TO ** 2 PM on SATURDAY**, February 15, at First Wesleyan Church in Eden. Burial will follow in El Bethel Presbyterian Church Cemetery.

Mr. Booth was born April 20, 1930 in Draper, NC, the son of the late Willis M. and Beulah Barrow Booth. He was a US Army veteran and a retiree of Fieldcrest Mills. Mr. Booth was a member of First Wesleyan Church, was an avid Duke fan and loved to hunt and fish.

He is survived by his wife, Martha Sutliff Booth of the home; sons, James "Jim" W. Booth, Jr. and wife, Carol of Lansing, NC, Jeffrey "Jeff" Booth and wife, Yvonne of Reidsville, and Joseph "Jody" Booth and wife, Martina of Eden; a daughter, Janis Booth Crane of Greenville, NC; five grandchildren, Jennifer Henry, Jonathan Crane, Sarai Crane, Joshua Booth, and Trevor Booth; three great-grandchildren, Amber Henry, Haylee Henry and Blythe Crane; sisters, Evon Jones and husband, Nathan of Cascade, VA, Dot Bush and husband, Jim of Eden, and Doraine Shropshire; and brothers, Carl Booth and wife, Jean of Eden, Ronnie Booth and wife, Shirley of Eden, and Garvin Booth and wife, Julie of Axton, VA.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his grandson, Mikheal Booth; sister, Gaynelle McCollum; and brothers, Thomas Wayne Booth and Willis M. Booth, Jr.

DUE TO THE WEATHER CONDITIONS,The family will receive friends **FRIDAY EVENING, 6 - 8 PM, at Fair Funeral Home and other times at the home of Jody and Martina Booth, 203 Brandywine Drive in Eden.
