Hazel Newmon Land, 89, of 525 Franklin Dr., passed away Sunday January 26, 2014 at her home. A Funeral service will be held 2 pm Wednesday at Spray Baptist Church. The burial will be held on Saturday, February 1 at 11 AM in Land Family Cemetery.
Mrs. Land was born June 30, 1924 in Rockingham County to the late Clyde and Lillie Patterson Newmon. She was a homemaker and member of Spray Baptist Church.
She was predeceased along with her parents by daughter, Malissia B. Land.
Surviving are husband, Louis Land of the home; daughter, Penny Land Carter; grandson, Frank Carter and wife Sheree',
granddaughter, Dena Dalton and husband Lee; greatgrandchildren, Peyton and Ethan Carter, Logan and Evan Dalton.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday evening from 6- 8 pm at Fair Funeral Home and other times at the home.
