Ruby Gilley Bingham age 94 , resident of 166 Garrett Road since 1995, departed her earthly home on Tuesday evening January 21, 2014. She is now rejoicing in her heavenly home.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday at 2 pm at Fair Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow at Overlook Cemetery.
Mrs. Bingham was born September 5, 1919 in Rockingham County to the late John Edgar and Cora Hopkins Gilley,
Preceding her in death along with her parents was her husband of 54 years, Pastor Grady A. Bingham; step-children, Jimmy Bingham and Linda Gail B. Mitchell, six brothers, Dock, Raymond, Richard, Albert, Edward and Ray Gilley; four sisters, Lois Strader, Ola Mae Stewart, Gaynelle McLamb and Frances Hopper.
Mrs Bingham was of the Pentecostal faith and welcomed all to her home and loved and cared for many children through the years.
Leaving to cherish her memory are her sons, John (A.C.) Pulliam and wife Lois, Dennis Pulliam and wife Ellen; daughter, Laverne P. Roberson and daughter-in-heart, Billie Ferguson Ridgeway; sister, Peggy Carter; four grandchildren, Sixteen great- grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews.
Family will receive friends at Fair Funeral Home one hour prior to the service from 1-2 pm and other times at the home.
