Aubrey Jeduthan Cole, 82, of 6022 Axton Road in Axton, VA, passed away Sunday evening, January 19, 2014, at his home surrounded by his family.
A graveside service will be held at 2 PM on Wednesday, January 22, at Overlook Cemetery in Eden, NC. Military rites will be performed by the Rockingham County VFW Honorguard.
Mr. Cole was born September 14, 1931 in Henry County, Virginia. He was the son of the late J. J. Cole and Bertha Harris Cole. Mr. Cole was a US Marine veteran and a member of Willis Memorial Baptist Church where he served as a deacon. He was a retiree of DuPont after 38 years of service.
He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Nancy Wells Cole of the home; son, Michael Aubrey Cole and wife, Heather, of Axton; one granddaughter, Kimberly Cole Shlachtman of Hollywood, FL; and two step-grandchildren, Cameron and Nicholas Gilbert.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by sister, Marine Cook and brother, Louis Cole.
The family will receive friends Tuesday evening, 6 - 8 PM, at Fair Funeral Home and other times at the residence.
