Virginia Butler Pratt, age 81 of 369 Ginny Road, Eden passed away on Sunday January 19, 2014 at her home.

A funeral service will be held on Wednesday at 2 pm at El Bethel Presbyterian Church with Pastor Francis Young officiating, burial to follow in the Church Cemetery.

Virginia was born February 1, 1932 in the Spray section of Eden to the late George M. Butler and Eva Fagge Butler. She retired from Rockingham County School System. She was past Matron of The Eastern Star #195 and was a current member of The Rose Chapter #187 in Greensboro.

Virginia was a member of the hospital auxillary at Morehead Memorial Hospital.

She was predeased along with her parents by her husband, Donald S. Pratt; daughter, Dee Dee Pratt Gillie and brother, Kenneth M. Butler.

Surviving are daughters, Susan Pratt Nixon and husband Brian of Denver, NC and Josie Pratt Cooley and husband Charles of Waynesboro, PA; son, David Pratt and wife Susan of Laural, MD; grandchildren, Emily and Sarah Gillie, Jesse and Hanna Nixon, Archie, Marcus and Virginia Cooley; brothers, George W.Butler of Eden, Charles Butler and wife Patty of Charlotte, NC; sisters, Martha Johnson and husband Al of Collinsville, VA and Pam Robertson and husband Kenneth of Stoneville; caregiver, Ernestine Penn.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday evening from 6 -8 pm at Fair Funeral Home and other times at the home.
