Rebecca "Becky Smith Amos, 83, formerly of 820 Anglin Mill Road in Stoneville, passed away Tuesday morning, December 17, 2013 at Carolina Foothills Hospice House in Landrum, SC.

A funeral service will be held at 3 PM on Friday, December 20, at Christian View Pentecostal Holiness Church in Stoneville. Burial will follow in Martin Family Cemetery.

Mrs. Amos was born November 23, 1930 in Rockingham County, NC. She was the daughter of the late Ernest S. and Kate B. Price Smith. Mrs. Amos was a memberof Christian View Pentecostal Holiness Church where she served as secretary for 20 years. She was also a member of the Women's Ministries and of the Price-Ayersville Ruritan Club. Mrs. Amos had worked for Bassett Walker in Stoneville for many years.

She is survived by her two daughters, Gail Amos Garrett and husband, Len of Stoneville and Malane Amos Smith and husband, Todd of Taylors, SC; four grandchildren, Jeff Garrett and wife, Stephanie, Mark Garrett and wife, Kim, Kim Carty and husband, Jesse, and Jared Smith; and eight great-grandchildren, Blake and Jase Garrett, Colby and Kyndall Garrett, Christian and Harlie Meeks and Tyler and Jaxon Carty.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Louis Amos; three brothers, Claude, Kenneth and Alton Smith; and sister, Hazel S. Shaffer.

The family will receive friends Thursday evening, 6 - 8 PM, at Fair Funeral Home and other times at the home of her daughter, Gail, at 2137 Garrett Road in Stoneville.

Memorial contributions may be made to Christian View Pentecostal Holiness Church, 425 Anglin Mill Rd., Stoneville, NC 27048 or to Lutheran Hospice, 429 N. Main St., Greenville, SC 29601.

George and I were saddened to hear of Becky's passing and would have been there except for George being in the hospital in Winston Salem. I have been praying for all of you to have peace in your hearts. I loved your Mother and she was a great friend to us.
