Jessie DeHart Overby Amburn, 89, of 1384 Lincoln St., Eden, N.C. passed away Saturday, December 14, 2013 at Morehead Memorial Hospital.
A funeral service will be held at 2pm Wednesday at Fair Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow at Dan View Cemetery.
Mrs. Amburn was born February 26, 1924 in Woolwine, VA to the late Chester DeHart and Ollie Eanes DeHart. She was retired from Fieldcrest Mills after 43 years of service.
Jessie was preceded in death along with her parents; husbands, Wayne Overby and Jack Amburn; son, Wayne Dale Overby; and eight brothers and sisters.
She is survived by her son, Harold Overby and wife Jan of Burlington; three grandchildren, Mandy Marie Widmark, Harold Dean Overby and Brian Lee Overby, and one great grandchild, Dillon Chance Overby and many special neices and nephews.
Family will receive friends on Tuesday evening from 6 - 8 pm and other times at the home.

My heart is there with you all today in remembering Aunt Tink. She was an uplifting and stable presence in my life and my brother Wayne's since we were small. My Mom was hospitalized for a year when we were small and Aunt Tink took us in as her own. We were raised with Dale & Harold as brothers and sister. I am so grateful for the times we shared. There is so much to be learned from such a warm, giving and fun-loving woman and so many reasons today to celebrate her life.
