Mamie Dee Jenkins Barnes, 77 of 113 Holliman Dr. in Eden, passed away Saturday morning(Dec. 7, 2013) at her home. Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, Dec 10th in the Fair Funeral Home Chapel at 2:00 pm with burial to follow at Roselawn Cemetery.
Mrs. Barnes was born on Jan. 12, 1936 in Eden to the late Dennis and Leila Smith Jenkins. Mamie retired from Fieldcrest Mills and she was soon to be a new member of the New Beginnings Church and also a past member of King Memorial Baptist Church and also the First Assembly Church of God.
Mamie is survived by her husband, Virgil of the home; 2 daughters, Vicky Shelton of the home and Judy Carter and husband, Tim of Eden; 3 step-daughters; Donola Gentry and husband, Jim of Stokesdale, Diane Barnes of Eden, Darcel Barnes of Stokesdale. Sons; Teddy Sturgill and wife, Donna of Eden, Dennis Sturgill of Eden and Randall Sturgill of Reidsville. Step-son; Derek Barnes and wife, Sheila of Myrtle Beach, SC.;14 Grandchildren and 24 Great-grandchildren; and brother, Harvey Jenkins of Oklahoma City, OK. In addtion to her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Pamela Jo Sturgill and step-son, Daryl Barnes and daughter-in-law, Linda Sturgill.
A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service(from 1 til 2 pm) on Tuesday and at other times at the home.
