Karen Denise Mitchell, 49, of 9018 NC 87 North in Reidsville, passed away Sunday afternoon, November 17, 2013, at Moses Cone Memorial Hospital in Greensboro.
A graveside service will be held at 2 PM on Thursday, November 21, at the Roselawn Memorial Gardens chapel.
Karen was born March 24, 1964 in Rockingham County, NC. She worked as a caregiver and phlebotomist at Annie Penn Memorial Hosptial before becoming disabled.
She is survived by her husband, Darrell Keith Mitchell of the home; son, Darren Keith Mitchell of Greensboro; father, Henry W. Mitchell; sister, Shirley Mitchell and Jerry Haizlip of Reidsville; brothers, Donnie Mitchell and wife, Melody , Tommy Mitchell and wife, Carla of Bethany, James Mitchell and wife, Joy of Eden, Darrell Mitchell of Reidsville, Kenneth Mitchell and wife, Jane, Frank Mitchell, and John Henry Mitchell, all of Reidsville; sister-in-law, Lisa Manley and husband, Skipper; brother-in-law, Larry Mitchell and wife, Tammy; uncle, Larry Perdue; four nephews, Eric Walker, Derrick Manley, Jordan Mitchell, and Brian Mitchell; special friends Jennifer Shough, Tracey Blevins, Tonia Tate and Howard Ray Carroll.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Elizabeth "Lib" Perdue Finney.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service (1 - 2 PM) at the chapel at Roselawn Memorial Gardens and other times at the home of her sister, Shirley Mitchell, 251 Mitchell Road in Reidsville.
In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to the funeral home to assist with the funeral expenses.

I cannot begin to tell you how sorry I am that you have lost your beloved sister. I loved her so much, and I am so thankful that I was able to see and talk to her in July. I wish I could be there for you as you were there for us, but please know that you are in my thoughts and prayers. I feel honored to have known her and I know she will be missed every day.
