Patricia Pyron Smith, 87, of Reidsville, went to be with the Lord on Saturday afternoon, October 26, 2013 while at Hospice Home of Rockingham County in Wentworth.
A memorial service will be held at 11 AM on Saturday, November 2, at Bethlehem United Methodist Church, 1891 Bethlehem Church Road. However, the interment of cremains will take place at 9:30 AM on Saturday morning at Overlook Cemetery.
Mrs. Smith was born August 9, 1926 in Leaksville, NC. She was the daughter of the late James C. and Freda Venski Pyron. Mrs. Smith was a graduate of Leaksville High School. She was a member of Bethlehem United Methodist Church and served as an Outreach Spokesperson for her church. She was a former hairdresser.
She is survived by her son, Tom Smith and wife, Martha of Eden; two daughters, Carolyn Smith of Little River, SC and Patricia Meador and husband, Bob of Reidsville; granddaughter, Heather Kate Meador of Reidsville; two brothers, Jimmy Pyron of Eden and George Pyron and wife, Arletta of Stoneville; as well as special nieces and many other nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Lonnie Smith; and three sisters, Marie Vaughn, Sarah Day, and Bertha Mae Robertson.
There will be no formal visitation. Family will be meeting at the home of her daughter, Patricia, 241 Meador Lake Road in Reidsville.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Rockingham County, PO Box 281, Wentworth, NC 27375 or to Reidsville Outreach Center, PO Box 773, Reidsville, NC 27323.
