Wilma Curry Jones, 69, of 239 Geneva Drive in Eden, passed away Sunday evening, October 27, 2013, at Morehead Memorial Hospital.
A funeral service will be held at 2 PM on Wednesday, October 30, 2013, at Fair Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Overlook Cemetery.
Mrs. Jones was born March 2, 1944 in Rockingham County. She was the daughter of the late Arthur and Lillie Stratton Curry. She was a member of Charity Baptist Church and loved music. Mrs. Jones enjoyed flower gardening and loved all her grandchildren. She was a retiree of Fieldcrest Mills.
She is survived by her husband, Melvin Jones of the home; daughters, Susan Shelton and husband, Jeff of Ridgeway, VA, Jeannie Moore and husband, Dale of Madison; three sons, Tony Evans and wife, Libby, Mark Evans and wife, Pamela, and Chris Evans and wife, Jennifer, all of Eden; 14 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; two step-daughters, Wendy Jones and Tammy Jones; sisters, Treva Curry and Margaret Young of Eden; four step-grandchildren; brother, William "Sonny" Curry of Reidsville; and her special friends, Peggy Mullins and Ruby Duncan.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by 11 siblings.
The family will receive friends Tuesday evening, 6 - 8 PM at Fair Funeral Home and other times at the home of her son, Chris, 1002 Fieldcrest Road in Eden.
