I was shocked to see that Joan has passed away.I was just talking with her at Burger King not long ago. Joan was a sweet lady that I met about 38 years ago when she was working at the Draper Nutrition Site. My thoughts and prayers will be with the family.

Dear Family, I have known Joan from school days. She was such a sweet, kind person and went out of her way to assist you when you visited her at the stores that she had worked at. When I would see her we would talk about our families. She loved you all very much. I have missed seeing her at the store and wondered about her, she had mentioned retiring when we talked. Everyone that knew her will miss dearly. God bless you and be with you. Toni Goins

Joan and your family have been in my prayers daily. Joan was a wonderful person and I know how much she meant to my sister, Brenda, and to so many other people. She will be greatly missed. May the Lord provide you with the strength and comfort that only He can provide. Martha

I knew Joan from LSJHS onward but didn't know that she was married to my childhood friend, Johnny Parker, who had more toys that anyone else! I hope that hers was a full and fulfilling life and that her family takes comfort in the love that surrounded her.

Dear John, Cathy and family, Randy and I are so saddened at the loss of our good friend Joan. Though we have not seen a lot of her over the last several years, we still held her dear to our hearts. I was fortunate to be able to spend some time talking with her at the mall from time to time. We always shared stories about our grandkids, whom she was very proud of, and reminisced about the good ole days when we would sit out on the screened porch with her and Johnny and talk for hours. We were privileged to call them both our very good friends. You all are in our prayers. Randy and Cathy Garrett

To John and Cathy and all your families: I am very saddened to learn of dear Joan's passing on Sunday. I knew her in the '60s and '70s but sadly lost track of her after that. She was a very dear, sweet, and loving lady, and we got together occasionally for our very young children to play together and us to visit. We all will miss her, as I know you will too. My love to both of you. Zena Strub Yarbrough

I am so sorry to hear of Joan's passing. I worked with Joan years ago at Belk's when the store was in Meadow Greens Shopping Center! I remember her talking about making Buck Wheat Pancakes on the weekends. We always visited for awhile when I went in Belk's. We talked about our grandchildren. She was a dear friend. Rest in Peace Joan and may God wrap his arms around your loved ones during this time.
