Linda Faye Owen Chapman, 59, of 1227 Carolina Avenue, passed away early Wednesday morning, October 16, 2013, at Moses Cone Hospital in Greensboro.

A memorial service will be held at 2 PM on Saturday, October 19, at King Memorial Baptist Church on West Avenue in Eden.

Mrs. Chapman was born September 27, 1954 in Danville, VA. She was the daughter of the late James Thomas Owen and Lessie Mae Myers Owen. Mrs. Chapman was a former employee of Spray Cotton Mill.

She is survived by her husband, Bernard Chapman of the home; two daughters, Toni Penn of Reidsville and Crystal Darrah of Martinsville, VA; two sons, Ernie Hopkins and Michael Chapman, both of Eden; three step-children, Michael Chapman, Sr. and Adam Chapman, both of Bassett, VA, and Angela Cassell of Sandville, VA; 16 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; sister, Jeanie East of Chapham, VA; and two brothers, Walter Owen of Fieldale, VA and Charlie Owen of Danville, VA.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Richard Hopkins, Jr.
