Emmy Lou Branch Cook, 71 of 4657 Price Road, Stoneville, NC passed away on Wednesday October 9 , 2013 at Moses Cone Hospital.
A funeral service will be held 2 pm Saturday at Immanuel Friends Church with burial to follow at Dan View Cemetery.
Mrs. Cook was born June 24, 1942 in Dillon, S.C. to the late Omar and Ione Branch. She was a graduate of Dillon High School, Class of 1960. She was a member of Immanuel Friends Church. She loved her church family deeply. Her beautiful singing voice blessed everyone. Emmy retired from Karastan Service Center and later was a Sales Representive for Home Interiors, Inc.
Preceding her in death along with her parents , was her husband Jerry Wayne Cook; brothers, Tom, Alfred and Harold Branch; sister, Sarah Miles.
Surviving are daughters, LuAnn Ard Scott of Eden and Bliss Ard Callaway of Cascade, VA; granddaughter, Megan Brooke Craddock of Greensboro; step daughter, Lisa Olson of Woburn, MA; ; step grandchildren, Matt and Rachel Olson; special friends, Cindy and Johnny White of Stoneville and Sydney Ann Jackson of Florence, SC.
Family will receive friends 6 -8 pm on Friday at Fair Funeral Home. The family will receive family and church family at 419 Fairmont Drive in Eden from 2 - 4 PM on Friday afternoon.

She was like a second mother to me and treated me like a daughter for many years. I loved her very much and will always cherish our friendship. She was a very special lady. I went to school at Little Rock elem. and the Baptist church with Emmy Lou in Little Rock, all were small at that time, the kids were all close, we got to know each other very well, your mother was lots of fun and a cheerful person. We also played baseball, boy could she run. I can see her now doing all the things we use to do as childreds,what fun we had.She will be missed.
