Alberta Cockerham Holder, 82, of 1551 Ashley Loop in Reidsville, passed away Monday morning, September 30, 2013, at her home, surrounded by her loving family.
A funeral service will be held Thursday 11 am at Mt. Hermon Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Mrs. Holder was born June 2, 1931 in Mt. Airy, NC, daughter of the late Kelly R. and Maggie Cockerham. She was a 1951 graduate of Beulah High School in Mt. Airy.
She is survived by her husband, Reverend Grover Holder, of the home; son, Tony Holder of Reidsville; daughters, Deborah Lawson and husband, Steve of Boonville and Tammy Holder of Ft. Lauderdale, FL; five grandchildren, David Lawson, Justin Lawson, Mark Lawson, Suzanne Poindexter and Erika Holder; five great-grandchildren; brother, Albert Cockerham; and sisters, Mary Lou Rigney and Nina Mae Simmons, all of Mt. Airy.
The family will receive friends Wednesday evening, 7 - 9 PM, at Mt. Hermon Baptist Church and other times at the residence.
