Cathy - our love goes out to you over the death of your mom. She was such a kind & loving person. I always looked forward to seeing her with Barbara when I came to town. We always laughed.as we shared so many wonderful family stories. Wish I could be there for the service but I'm having a really hard time getting around after 4 surgeries on my left knee & one on the right. I will be with you in my thoughts & prayers. May God's compassionate love & care be with you. Love you, cousin.

Cathy; My mother died way too young in 1968 at the age of fifty-one. For fifty-five years after that, your mother replaced her in my life. She survived things in her life that others with less strength could not have bared. When I came home from the Air Force for William's funeral, I saw just how much class and love she had for all around her. She will always be remembered as a very great lady. Love, Henry Murphy

Sorry to hear about your mom, Cathy. With mine and Dallas both gone now there's no reason for me to go to Eden anymore.

Shirley, Cindy, Tommy and families - So sorry to hear about Opal. Some of the fondest memories of my childhood are the ones I have of going to her house on Sundays and eating her wonderful cooking. I always considered her to be my second grandmother. One particular memory I have is of her standing at her kitchen sink and laughing at how much I could eat. I reminded her of how skinny I was. On that day, I will never forgot what she told me. She said with a chuckle "Wait until you're 40,you wont be able to eat that much and stay that skinny". Little do I know at the time, how wise she was. She was the perfect "grandmother" and so gentle and caring. She will always have a special place in my heart. I am so happy I visited her in 2008 (while she was in the nursing home). It was heart-warming to reminisce with her as she still remembered those Sundays too. She is definitely an angel in heaven now.
