Velma Frances Roberts Ferguson, 65, of 631 Fagg Drive, Apt 9-A in Eden, passed away Friday morning, January 4, 2019, at her home.  

A memorial service will be held at 5 PM on Monday, January 7, at Fair Funeral Home Chapel.  The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service, from 4 - 5 PM at Fair Funeral Home and other times at the residence.

Velma was born April 27, 1953 in Litwar, West Virginia to Chloe Mullins Stewart and the late Lawrence "Pig" Roberts.  She worked for Fieldcrest Mills and later for various restaurants in Eden.  She was also a beloved housekeeper and personal sitter for many families in Eden.

She is survived by her loving mother, Chloe Stewart, with whom she lived for the last four years.  She was blessed with three loving sons, Derrick Johnson (Sue) of Ridgeway, VA, Calvin Johnson of Eden, and Erric Johnson (Christy) of Reidsville.  She had and loved her grandchildren, Zack Murphy, Erric "Scoot" Johnson, Andy Johnson, Skyler Johnson, and Shaye Johnson;  along with her great-grandchildren, Benjamin and Kyleigh Johnson.  Also surviving is her sister, Patricia Newcomb and two brothers, Larry and Kevin Roberts, all of Eden.

In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her special grandson, Preston Long and three brothers, Roger, Greg and Steve Roberts.
