Paul "Rusty" Russell Thornton III, age 49 of 607 Franklin Drive, Apt. C, Eden, NC  passed away on Friday evening November 16, 2018 at his home.

A funeral service will be held 1 pm Monday at Leaksville Moravian Church  with burial to follow at  Ridgeview Memorial Gardens.  Following the service the family will host a reception at the Morehead - Fair House next to Fair Funeral Home. 

Rusty was born February 12, 1969 in Eden.  He was a graduate of Rockingham High School but had also attended Morehead High School. He was employed at Miller-Coors Brewing. He was an avid hunter and sportsman. He enjoyed NASCAR and Pittsburgh Steelers. He was a member of Leaksville Moravian Church.

Preceding him in death was a sister, Angela Law and grandparents, and aunts, Marjery Moore and Elizabeth Ann Key.

Surviving are wife Anna Hall Thornton of the home; stepchildren, Brandon & Brianna Joyce; mother, Irene Moore Law and husband Wallace; father, Russell Thornton Jr. and wife Iris; sister, Pamela Craig and husband Jeff; niece, Logan Craig and nephew Cody Craig; stepsister, Lynn Griffin, stepniece, Katie Griffin, special aunt, Sylvia Terry; brother - cousin, Jimmy Terry and wife Dana; special friends, Dennis and Laverne Caudle.

The family will receive friends on Sunday evening from 6 - 8 pm at Fair Funeral Home Chapel.
