Roger Newton Pierce, Sr. age 73 of 14288 Hwy 87 passed away suddenly on Tuesday January 23, 2018 at Moses Cone Hospital.  

A funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Friday at Fair Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Reidsville.  The family will receive friends on Thursday evening from 6 – 8 pm at Fair Funeral Home and other times at the home.

Mr. Pierce was born January 8, 1945 in Hall County, GA to the late Ralph and Myrtle Gasperson Pierce.  He was the former owner and operator for 18 years of Eden Variety Mart.  He attended Resurrection Holiness Church and Osborne Baptist Church.
Roger never meet a stranger, he loved to interact with people. 

Surviving are wife, Frances Kennon Pierce of the home; daughter, Donna Scott and husband Glenn of Ridgeway, VA.; sons, Roger Pierce, Jr. of Eden and Daryl Pierce of New Port News, VA; sister, Elaine Smith of Ruffin and brother, Stanley Pierce of AZ.; grandchildren, Jennifer and Michael Blanchard, Stephanie, Cassandra and Jacob Pierce, Chris Sturgill, Ambrosia and Bryant Pierce; great grandchildren, Regan Blanchard, Cameron and Makensie Moore.
