Christopher “Chris” Charles Spain, 44, of 1217 Front Street, passed away on early morning, Saturday, January 13, 2018 at his home.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm on Tuesday, January 16, 2018 at True Hope Church (194 Lakewood Road, Eden off of Price Road).  Interment will follow the service in Dan-View Cemetery.  The family will receive friends on Monday evening, January 15, 2018 from 6- 8 pm in Fair Funeral Home and other times at 1216 Front Street.

Chris was born on September 17, 1973 in Eden, NC to Mary Kennon Spain Beckner and the late Charlie Clarence Spain.  He enjoyed to draw, landscaping, float the river, and was willing to help anyone.  Chris was known as a “Jack of all trades”.  He will be greatly missed by all that knew him.

Chris is survived by his mother and step-father, Mary and Tim Beckner of the home; step-parents, Connie and Randy East of Cascade, VA; his son, Christopher Garza of GA; his brothers, Danny Burgess and wife, Amanda of Eden, Randy Spain and wife, Denise of VA, Michael Spain and wife, Ashley of Eden and Preston East of Cascade; step-brother, Chris Beckner and wife, Lauren of Eden; step-sister, Valerie Bishop and husband, Jeff of Asheville; grandmother, Ruth Roberts Spain of Eden; special friend, Penny Light of Eden; and numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.

The family request that memorial contributions may be made to Fair Funeral Home in person or by mail P.O. Box 337  Eden, NC 27288 to help with Christopher’s final expenses.
