Obituary For Elbert "Butch" Floyd Maness, Jr.
October 28, 1944 - January 12, 2018


Elbert "Butch" Floyd Maness, Jr., 73, of 2036 NC Hwy 135 in Eden, passed away early Friday morning, January 12, 2018, at Durham V.A. Medical Center.

A funeral service will be held at 2 PM on Monday, January 15th, at Immanuel Friends Church with burial to follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens.  The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service (1 - 2 PM) at the church.

Mr. Maness was born October 28, 1944 in the Draper section of Eden, to the late Elbert Floyd Maness, Sr. and Mildred Gauldin Maness.  He was a graduate of Morehead High School and served as a Military Police Officer  in the US Army. Butch was a member of Immanuel Friends Church.  He loved his horses, loved traveling to the Amish country and loved his three dogs.

He is survived by his wife, Patricia Dickerson Hundley Maness of the home;  two sons, Duane Maness and wife, Charlotte of Eden and Marty Maness and wife, Julie of Madison;  daughter, Tracy Moyers and husband, Dennis of Reidsville;  two step-children, Robert Hundley and wife, Clemmie of Bethany and Angela Alcorn and husband, Billy of Kernersville;  nine grandchildren;  four step-grandchildren;  four great-grandchildren;  sister, Shirley Talbert and husband, Tony of Stoneville;  and best friend, Clifford Denny of Danville, VA.
