Obituary For Muriel McGuire Horsley
January 16, 1939 - November 18, 2017


Muriel McGuire Horsley, 78 of 230 E. Harris Place, Eden passed away peacefully early Saturday morning in the loving arms of her Lord & Savior at Moses Cone Hospital in Greensboro.

A service to celebrate the life of Muriel will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, November 25, 2017 in Fair Funeral Home Chapel.  The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service (1-2pm).  

Mrs. Horsley was born in Axton, VA on January 16, 1939 to the late Everette Tarlton McGuire and Bernice Sigmon McGuire Keaton.  She was a graduate of Tri-City High School, class of 1957.  Muriel worked for the Department of Labor as a secretary and various other jobs and retired from Cone Health.  She was of the Christian Faith.  Mrs. Horsley enjoyed spending time at the beach, doing daily crossword puzzles, was an avid reader, but most of all she loved her family dearly and her beloved cat, Snoopy.

Along with her parents she is preceded in death by her son, Stephen Douglas Horsley, Sr.

Mrs. Horsley is survived by her daughter, Lynn Fishel and husband, Steve of Elon, NC; sister, Debbie Booth and husband, Len of Eden; brothers, Michael McGuire of KY and James McGuire of Reidsville; her grandchildren, Christina Urban, Justin VonGarlem (fiancé, Lindsey Ebling), Nichole Wehberg, Stephen Horsley, Jr. (Ashley), and Amanda Jones (Matt), Kristi Arrington (Garry); daughter-in-law, Sharon Horsley; and former husband, James Horsley.
