Obituary For Nolan Ray Price
July 5, 1932 - October 24, 2017


Nolan Ray Price, 85, of 3903 Morgan Ford Road in Ridgeway, VA, passed away Tuesday night, October 24, 2017, at Blue Ridge Nursing Center in Stuart, VA.

 

A funeral service will be held at 11 AM on Friday, October 27, at Bethel Baptist Church.  Burial will follow in Mt. View Cemetery in Ridgeway with military rites to be performed by the Rockingham County Veteran's Honor Guard and the NC National Guard.  The family will receive friends Thursday evening, 6 - 8 PM, at Fair Funeral Home and other times at the home of his sister-in-law, Mary Ann Burgess, 4316 Mitchell Road in Ridgeway, VA.

 

Mr. Price was born July 5, 1932 in Henry County, Virginia, to the late Jesse and Hazel Dean Price.  He was a US Army veteran serving in Germany and Alaska during the Korean War.  Mr. Price was a retired electrician from Fluor-Daniel.  He was a very active member of Bethel Baptist Church where he had served as a Sunday School teacher, deacon and choir leader.  He enjoyed gardening and in his younger years, Nolan enjoyed hunting. 

 

He is survived by his wife, Madeline Price;  son, Kenneth Price and wife, Wrenn;  daughter, Darlene Folds and husband, Russell;  six grandchildren, Nathan Price, Allyson Price, Justin Price and wife, Mandy, Keila Walker and husband, Glenn, Rianna Folds and Jeb Folds;  three brothers, Brenton W. Price, Billy Price  and Morris Price;  and five sisters, Nadine Lawson, Loretta Manuel, Abbidean Young, Betty Adkins and Ellie Harbour.

 

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, Jimmy, Arnold  and Lawrence Price;  and three sisters, Vivian Fulcher, Mae Hawks, and Joan Price.
