Obituary For James "Jimmy" Causey Davidson, Jr.
April 22, 1923 - October 24, 2017


James "Jimmy" Causey Davidson, Jr., 94, of  Eden, passed away Tuesday morning, October 24, 2017 at Hospice Home of Rockingham County.

A funeral service will be held at 2 PM on Friday, October 27, at First Baptist Church.  Burial will follow in Ridgeview Memorial Gardens with military rites being performed by the Rockingham County Veterans Honor Guard and the NC National Guard.  The family will receive friends Thursday evening, 5 - 7 PM, at Fair Funeral Home.

James was born in Asheboro, NC to the late Causey James Davidson, Sr. and Jessie Lewallen Davidson on April 22, 1923.  He served in the 184th AAA Batallion of the US Army for three years and was in five major conflicts during his service.  After World War II, he moved to Leaksville (now Eden) to open the People's Loan Company.  Several years later, he purchased Leaksville Hardware from Mr. C. P. Smith where he serviced the community for 45 years until he retired.  As a long-time member of First Baptist Church of Eden, he served as a deacon and member of the Building Committee.  He was among the charter members of the Kiwannis Club of Eden and he served as a director on the board of Home Savings and Loan Bank of Eden for 30 years.

James is survived by his wife of 67 years, Jewell Shaw Davidson, and daugther, Lori Denise Jones and husband, Tim, of Charlotte.  He has two granddaughters, Hillary Jones Ash and husband, John, of Charlotte and Natalie Brent Jones of Charleston, SC.  Also surviving are one sister, Maxine Winstead;  sister-in-law, Doris Davidson;  five nieces and two nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Lynnette Shaw Davidson;  three brothers, Tom, Dewey and Darrell Davidson;  and a sister, Inez Davidson Lowe.  

The family would like to offer special thanks to his wonderful caregivers, Concetta "Ann" Brown, Angela Fountain, Deidre Hagwood, Faye Allen, Jeri Owen, Aletta Corum, and Teresa Hazelwood for all their love and support.
