Obituary For William "Donald" Gann

William “Donald” Gann, 77, of Stoneville, passed away Saturday, August 12, 2017 at Hospice Home of Rockingham County. 

A funeral service will be held at 3pm on Thursday August 17, 2017 at Fair Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow at Stoneville City Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service 2-3pm, and other times at the home.

Donald Gann was born on November 12, 1939 to the late Willie Franklin Gann and Mary Webb Gann of Stoneville. NC. He graduated from Stoneville High School in the class of 1958, and retired from E.I. Dupont Industries, Martinsville, VA in 1995.Mr. Gann was a very loving husband, father, grandfather, and great grand-father and was a master gardener and enthusiastic fisherman.

He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Frances Watkins Gann of the home; son, James Perry Gann and daughter, Teresa Reneẻ Gann both of Stoneville; grandchildren, Somer LeeAnn Griffin of Greensboro, Nora Reneẻ Gann of Stoneville, Jordan James Everette Gann of Greensboro; great grandchildren, Riley Corinne Gann of Stoneville, Griffin Liam Gallant, of Greensboro, and Connie Sofia Wilson of Stoneville; honorary daughter, Suzanne Williams of Kernersville; three brothers, Johnie Webb Gann of Stoneville, Roy Thomas Gann (Judy)of Stoneville, and Jimmy Leon Gann of Mayodan; four sisters Janice Gann Makwakwa (Spencer) of Malawi Africa, Cecilia Gann Mills (Gordan) of Stoneville, Gay Roberta Gann of Stoneville, and Lorena Gann Comer (Dwayne) of Stoneville; beloved family dogs Bella and Pixie; and an abundant amount of nieces and nephews.

 In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Jerry Lee Gann; and daughter Cynthia Gann Haskin and daughter-in-law, Connie Comer Gann.
