Ralph Edward Wells, 75, of Ridgeway, VA, passed away Tuesday morning, July 18, 2017, at Morehead Nursing Center in Eden.

A graveside service will be held at 11 AM on Thursday, July 20, at Mt. View Cemetery in Ridgeway.  The family will receive friends Wednesday evening, 6 - 8 PM, at Fair Funeral Home and other times at 380 Old Leaksville Road in Ridgeway.

Mr. Wells was born April 17, 1942 in Henry County, VA,  to the late Richard and Annie Mae Sims Wells.  He was an avid fisherman and poker player. Ralph retired from B & B Trucking.  He was of the Baptist faith.

He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Bonnie Moss Wells of the home;  four children, Lori Hinchee (Larry) of Martinsville, VA, Ruth Hudson (Gary) of Eden, Richard Wells of the home, and Rebecca Parks (Tim) of Eden;  nine grandchildren, Jacob Hudson, Joshua Hudson, Emaleigh Hudson, Andrew Hinchee, Billy Hinchee, Charlie Hinchee, Nate Parks, Max Parks and Sam Parks;  sisters, Inez Compton of Ridgeway, VA and Frances Barker of Eden;  and brother James Wells (Betty) of Stoneville.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, William and Wayne Wells.
