Bertha Martin Hamlett, 93, passed away Thursday, February 9, 2017, at Morehead Nursing Center.

A funeral service will be held at 2 PM on Sunday, February 12, at Fair Funeral Home Chapel.

Ms. Hamlett was born September 28, 1923 in Henry County, Virginia, to the late Charles Burl Martin and Sarah Chaney Martin Halstead.  She was a member of King Memorial Baptist Church and a retiree of Fieldcrest Mills.

She is survived by  her two sons, Robert "Bobby" Hamlett of Oak Ridge  and Martin "Marty" Hamlett of Eden;  five grandchildren;  and four great-grandchildren

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Jesse Allen Hamlett;  brother, Coy Martin;  and sisters, Odeline Howell and Gladys Hill.

The family will receive friends Saturday evening, 5 - 7 PM, at Fair Funeral Home.
