Betty Howell Brown, 90, of 122 South Byrd Street in Eden, passed away Monday morning, December 12, 2016, at her home. 

A graveside service will be held at 2 PM on Thursday, December 15, at Danview Cemetery.

Betty was born November 8, 1926 in Rockingham County, NC to the late Mark A. Howell and Julia Mae Haley Howell.  She was one of the first women Vestry  at St. Mary's Episcopal Church on Highway 87 in Eden.  Betty retired from Lorillard Tobacco Company.  She loved her family dearly and greatly missed.

She is survived by her daughter, Kay Miley and husband, Berry of Eden;  two grandchildren, Crystal Jones and husband, Josh and Andrea Haynes, both of Eden;  four great-grandchildren;  one great-great-grandchild;  and a sister.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her twin brother, M. A. Howell and two sisters, Pearl Ayers and Margaret Griffith.

The family will receive friends Wednesday evening, 6 - 8 PM at Fair Funeral Home.
