Harold Douglas Alley, 64, of 370 Crafts Lane in Gladehill, VA, passed away Tuesday, August 30, 2016, at Rocky Mount Rehab & Health Care Center in Rocky Mount, VA.

A private memorial service will be held at a later date.

Mr. Alley was born September 18, 1951 in Franklin County, Virginia, to the late Charlie Woodrow Wilson Alley and Beulah Dove Alley.  He was a retired cook for Jack's Barbecue and Brown Derby.  In his spare time he enjoyed training horses and loved fishing.

He is survived by his wife, Cleo Gorman Alley of the home;  daughters, Sharon St. Clair (Christopher Wells) of Gladehill, VA and Dreama Settle (Matthew) of Penhook, VA;  five grandchildren, Douglas Wayne Alley, Kimberly Dawn Alley, Bryan Matthew Settle, Amber Leigh Settle and Jeffery Tyler Alley;  two great-grandchildren, Clinton Stanley and Grant Alley;  and sisters, Shirley Hay of Roanoke, VA, Joyce Slusher of Salem, VA, Lois Pruett and Nancy Shelburne, both of Roanoke.
