Lawson Bradley Jones, 85, of 321 Anderson Road in Eden, passed away Sunday night, July 24, 2016 at Morehead Nursing Center.

A private graveside service will be held at 2 PM on Wednesday, July 27, at Overlook Cemetery.  There will be no visitation.

Mr. Jones was born November 1, 1930 in Spray, North Carolina to the late Ulrich "Buck" Jones and Theresa Shockley Jones.  He was a US Army veteran and a retiree of Miller Brewing Company.  Lawson had also worked for Fieldcrest Mills, Karastan Division.

He is survived by his wife, Dorothy Vernon Jones, of the home;  son, Clyde Eugene Vernon (Sandra) of Eden;  grandchildren, Ashley Drexler (David) of Madison and Aimee Vernon of Eden;  three great-grandchildren, Bradley and Cole Vernon and Sawyer Drexler;  and brother, Louis Jones (June) of Burlington.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Tommy Jones and sister, Mildred Cassell.
