Catherine Heath Hambrick, 97, was called home and received with open arms of her Lord and Savior on June 9, 2016 at Penn Nursing Center.  

A funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM on Tuesday, June 14, 2016 at Spray Baptist Church.  Interment will follow the service in Overlook Cemetery.

Mrs. Hambrick was born in Stokes County to the late William Everette Heath and Lucy Grogan Heath. She was a Registered Nurse and worked for Dr. Thomas office then Dr. Sherrill office and finally she retired as head third floor nurse at Morehead Memorial Hospital.  Catherine was a member of Spray Baptist Church and loved her church.  If the doors were open at church, she was there.  Mrs. Hambrick dedicated her life to taking care of others.  She will be greatly missed. 

Mrs. Hambrick is survived by her son, Billy Hambrick and wife, Sue of Eden; grandchild, Tolana Brown and husband, Phil of Julian, NC; great-grandchildren, Marley and Levi Brown; special nieces and nephew, Gina Chaney, Sherron Smith and Sammy Sutliff; special sister-in-law, Hilda Heath.

Along with her parents she is preceded in death by her husband, Cecil Hambrick; twin brother, Kalen Heath; sister, Madeline Sutliff and infant brother, Carl Heath.

The family will receive friends from 6:30 – 8:30 PM on Monday, June 13, 2016 at Spray Baptist Church and other times at the home of her son, 903 Ellett Ave. Eden, NC  27288.

The family would like to give a special thank you to Dr. Vyas, Dr. Robertson, Dr. Arlo Lassen and the staff of Penn Nursing Center for the care they gave Mrs. Hambrick.
