Charlene Church Flinchum, 67, of 659 Valley Drive in Eden, passed away Sunday afternoon, May 15, 2016 at Hospice Home of Rockingham County.

 

A funeral service will be held at 2 PM on Thursday, May 19, at Fair Funeral Home Chapel.  Burial will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery.

 

Mrs. Flinchum was born September 22, 1948 in Patrick County, Virginia to the late Nathan Church and Mattie Witt Church Rigney.  She was a retiree of Unifi in Mayodan.

 

She is survived by her husband of 48 years, David Flinchum of the home;  two daughters, Bonnie F. Dalton of Eden and Teresa F. Gilley and fiance', Joey Harrell of Reidsville;  son, Ronnie Flinchum of Kill Devil Hills;  special great-granddaughter, Sarah Rigney;  seven grandchildren;  13 great-grandchildren;  brothers, George Church, Roy Church, and Mike Rigney, all of Eden;  and her best friend, Emma Simpson. 

 

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Ronald Church;  and three brothers, Edward Church, Bobby Church, and Tommy Church.

 

The family will receive friends Wednesday evening, 6 - 8 PM, at Fair Funeral Home and other times at the residence.
