John  William Witty, 72, of 1437 Huntington Trail, Cascade, VA passed away on Saturday, February 13, 2016 at Hospice Home of Rockingham County.  He was born in Rockingham County on March 16, 1943 to the late Charlie and Lucy Witty.  John was of the Baptist faith and attended Willis Memorial Baptist Church in Cascade, VA.  He worked for Gildan Company in Eden.  Along with his parents he is preceded in death by his wife, Kaye Denny Witty and brother, Franklin Witty.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM, Thursday, February 18, 2016 in Fair Funeral Home Chapel with Revered Haywood Alcorn and Revered Wayne Mayberry officiating.  Interment will follow the service in Jones Family Cemetery.

John is survived by his sister, Doris Farmer and Helen Pickrell both of Reidsville, NC; brother, Leroy Witty of Reidsville, NC; numerous nieces and nephews; sister-in-law, Carolyn Witty of Reidsville, NC; son, Keith Witty of Wendell and daughter, Tammy Howell both of Wendell, NC; mother-in-law, Iris Jones Denny of Cascade, VA; sister-in-law, Rhonda Smith (Howard) of Danville, VA; brothers-in-law, Stanford C. Denny, Jr., Randy J. Denny (Cathy)  both of Cascade, VA, and  Harold Davis of Danville, VA; special nephew, Robert J. Denny of Cascade, VA; niece, Kelly Wright of Danville, VA, nephew, Brandon Davis (Amanda) of Danville, VA, two great-nephews, Jackson Wade and Ryan Wright.

A visitation will be held from 12:30 PM – 2:00 PM prior to the service on Thursday, February 18, 2016 and other times at the home of Carolyn Witty, 1120 Wolf Island Road, Reidsville, NC and home of Randy and Cathy Denny, 1376 Huntington Trail, Cascade, VA.
