Obituary For Worth Douglas "Doug" Shaw, Sr. July 30, 1929 - January 3, 2016 Worth Douglas "Doug" Shaw, Sr. age 86 of 208 Green Knolls Drive, Eden,NC passed away on Sunday morning January 3, 2016 at N.C. Baptist Hospital in Winston Salem. A Funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Thursday at Covington Wesleyan Church in Reidsville, NC with burial to follow at Southside Cemetery in Troy, NC. Mr. Shaw was born July 30, 1929 in Montgomery County to the late Grady and Glennie Hogan Shaw. He was a graduate of Troy High School, Class of 1948. Doug retired from Centel Telephone Company as District Manager and later opened the Bible Book & Gift Center with his wife. Doug also worked with Wood Candy Distribution Company. He loved to collect antique tools and telephone's. Surviving are wife Betty Blake Shaw of the home; son, Worth Douglas Shaw, Jr. and wife Pam of Burnsville, NC; daughter, Darlene Shaw Oakley and husband Allen of Statesville, NC; son, Tim Shaw and wife Anne of Kernersville, NC; grandchildren, Ashley and Alex Shaw, Blake Oakley and Bryan Oakley and his wife Katie, Mary Beth and Katie Shaw. He was preceded in death by his brother, Harvey Shaw. The family will receive friends from 5 - 7 pm on Wednesday at Fair Funeral Home and other times at the home.
