Obituary For Roberta Coon Chaney April 28, 1929 - August 30, 2015 Roberta Coon Chaney, age 86 of 213 Laurell Dr., Eden, NC passed away early Sunday morning, August 30, 2015 at Hospice Home Of Rockingham County, Wentworth, NC. The funeral service will be held 2pm Wednesday September 2, 2015 at Fair Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow in Ridge-View Memorial Gardens. Mrs. Chaney was born April 28, 1929 to the late Jessie A. and Josephine Coon in Guilford County, NC. She was a member of First Christian Church Disciples Of Christ in Eden, before the church disbanded, and retired from Rockingham Community College where she worked as the bookkeeper. Surviving are her daughter Cathy Smith and husband Randy of Walnut Cove, NC, one sister Beatrice Grogan of Stoneville, NC, two grandchildren Stephanie Pike and husband Chris of Eden and Amy Smith of Walnut Cove, NC, along with two great grandchildren Thomas and Kadalyn Pike. She was preceded in death by her husband Lacy Chaney, and her daughter Connie Simmons. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service from 1 until 2pm at Fair Funeral Home.
