Obituary For Betty Carter Shively October 29, 1935 - August 22, 2015 Betty Carter Shively, age 79, of 801 Grand Oaks Drive, Eden, passed away Saturday evening August 22, 2015 at her home. A Memorial service will be held 2 pm Tuesday at Fair Funeral Home Chapel with visitation to be held one hour prior to the service from 1 - 2 pm. Betty was born October 29, 1935 in the Spray section of Eden, to the late Lawrence Edwin and Sally Smith Carter. She was retired from E.I. Dupont in Martinsville. Betty was a member of Hampton Heights Baptist Church and was a volunteer with "Meals on Wheels" and the Food Pantry. Surviving are daughters, Carolyn Harris and husband Charles, Lisa Harbour and husband Ron; son, SSgt. David Shively and his late fiance, Cindy Jones; granddaughter, Lori Thacker and husband Tim; grandsons, Kevin Harris and wife Angel, Codey Harbour all of Eden, David Hazekamp of Amersfoort, Holland and Jake Shively of Burlington; great granddaughters, Kaitlyn and Kambree Harris of Eden; her fur grandbabies (dogs), Bella, Oreo, Roscoe, Jack, Wolf, Sheba, Bear, Rainey, Jasmine and Copper.
