Obituary For Donald Staton Hodges August 18, 1946 - July 31, 2015 Donald Staton Hodges, age 68 formerly of 320 Stone Rd., Reidsville, NC passed away Friday July 31, 2015 at Hospice Home of Rockingham County in Wentworth, NC. The funeral service will be held 2pm Tuesday August 4th at Fair Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow in Happy Home Christian Church Cemetery in Ruffin, NC. Donald Hodges was born August 18, 1946 in his home place in the Happy Home community of Ruffin, NC to the late Claude Staton and Minnie Hooker Hodges. He served his country in the US Army during the Vietnam War. He was an avid bluegrass fan and loved playing his banjo dearly. He retired from the Rockingham County Landfill where he worked as a maintenance supervisor. Surviving are his daughter Sheila Hurst and husband Todd of Eden, son James Hodges and wife Barbara of Reidsville, NC, brothers Tim Hodges and wife Debrah of Ruffin, NC, Rodney Hodges of Pelham, NC, sisters Carla Rierson of Eden and Teresa Haynes and husband Edward of Oakridge, NC and a grandson Matthew Hurst of Eden. Preceding him in death along with his parents is his sister Carol Whitley formerly of Reidsville, NC. The family wishes to extend a special thank you to Doraine Shropshire, close friend of Donald. Visitation will be held Monday evening 6 until 8pm at Fair Funeral Home.
