Obituary For Marian Evans Freeman July 7, 1928 - April 22, 2015 Marian Elizabeth Evans Freeman, 86 of 508 Smith Street, Eden, NC passed away on Wednesday April 22, 2015 in Lexington, NC. A funeral service will be held 2 pm on Saturday at Lighthouse Baptist Church with burial to follow at El Bethel Presbyterian Church Cemetery. Mrs. Freeman was born July 7, 1928 in Rockingham County to the late Paul and Nellie Jeffries Evans. She was a graduate of Leaksville High School and attended Montreat College. Marian was a member of Lighthouse Baptist Church and retired from Lightweight Block Company. Preceding her in death along with her parents was her husband, Owen Freeman; sisters, Shirley Nelson and Lorene Boyd; brothers, Ron Evans and Melvin (Bo) Evans. Surviving are sons, Shannon Freeman and Brian Freeman both of Eden and Paul Freeman and wife Debra of Lexington; brothers, Paul Evans Jr. and wife Gaye, John "Buddy" W. Evans and wife Angela; sister-in-laws, Shelby and Delores Evans; 5 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. A visitation will be held on Friday, April 24th at Fair Funeral Home from 7 - 9 pm and other times at the home of her son, Brian, 1832 Indian Trail, Eden.
