Obituary For Myra Pratt

Myra Jane Pratt went to be with her Lord on January 16, 2015 at the age of 72. On Thursday, January 22, 2015, family and friends are invited to a wake service at 11 a.m. at The Hall-Wynne Funeral Service, 1113 West Main St., Durham, where funeral services will follow at 12 noon at The Chapel of Hall-Wynne Funeral Service. Following the burial services at Chapel Hill Cemetery please join Myra?「どィび「s family for a light lunch in celebration of Myra?「どィび「s life at the Siena Hotel, 1505 East Franklin St., Chapel Hill.

After graduating from UNC with a degree in Physical Therapy she went on to open a network of clinics, being both an entrepreneur, a healer, and an advocate for her profession. Having been fascinated by her mother?「どィび「s folk remedies as a child, she spent her life dedicated to helping people, both within her profession and in her personal life. In her late years she met the challenge of developing Lupus (an autoimmune disease) with her usual strength. She taught countless medical students, residents and physicians to always keep the patient?「どィび「s perspective first.

She was predeceased by her parents, Clyde M. and Fannie Cox Pratt, by brother Milton Pratt and sister Mildred Campbell, all of Eden, NC and sister Frances Glass of Asheboro, NC. She is survived by her three sisters, Ruth Lemons and Faye Pyrtle, Both of Eden, NC, and Ann Woodall and husband Ron of Smith Mountain Lake, VA, and many nieces and nephews. Among them are special nieces Jeri Wilson, her husband Mike and beloved grandniece and Godchild Kelly Wilson; as well as Della Chumley and Jerrye Deaton; and her close nephews Sam Pyrtle and his partner Anthony Koop, and Reece Pyrtle, his wife Val and daughter Ainsley. She leaves behind her closest longtime friend Carol Gordon, as well as Nancy Roberts, Doug and Carrie Small, and numerous other friends. Also mourning her loss are her caregivers Sylvia Griffin, Vera Whitley and Fonda Welch whom she considered part of her family.
