Obituary For Dorothy Elizabeth Mize Farmer January 11, 1952 - December 15, 2014 Dorothy Mize Farmer, 62, of 312 Gilmer Circle, passed away Monday morning, December 15, 2014 at Hospice Home of Rockingham County in Wentworth, NC. A funeral service will be held at 2 PM on Friday, December 19, at Immanuel Friends Church. Burial will follow in Overlook Cemetery. Mrs. Farmer was born January 11, 1952 in Rockingham County, NC, to the late Leonard J. Mize and Pricie Salmons Mize. She had her own beauty shop and had been doing hair for over 20 years. Dorothy had worked in many salons over the years and had worked 10 years as a truck driver. She is survived by her husband, Michael W. Farmer, Sr., of the home; two sons, Michael W. Farmer, Jr. of Reidsville and Ryan Farmer and wife, Courtney, of Omaha, Nebraska; several uncles, aunts, and cousins; special friends Paul Withers, Tammy Joyner, and Pat Woodall; and her dogs, Mindy, Mandy and Yoshi, as well as her two cats, Cinnamon and Gizmo. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Joseph L. Mize. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service (1 - 2 PM) at Immanuel Friends Church.
