Obituary For William "Doug" Douglas Brown July 1, 1943 - October 23, 2014 William "Doug" Douglas Brown, 71, passed away early Thursday morning, October 23, 2014, at Brian Center in Eden. A funeral service will be held at 4 PM on Saturday, October 25, at Fair Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Happy Home Congregational Christian Church. Mr. Brown was born July 1, 1943 in Draper, NC, to the late Sidney and Cynthia Smith Brown. Doug was a retiree of Karastan Mills. He is survived by two daughters, Cheri Brown and David Adkins of Pelham, and Terri King and husband, Mike, of Reidsville; sister, Neva Saunders of Eden; and two grandchildren, David Adkins, Jr. and Samantha Nicole Adkins. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Dixie Newman Brown; sisters, Shirley Carter and Meryle Swinney; and his brother, Everette Brown. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service on Saturday (3 - 4 PM) at Fair Funeral Home and other times at the home of his sister at 170 Dusty Lane in Eden.
